SPAIN PERMANENT RESIDENCY & CITIZENSHIP

A principal applicant may apply for permanent residency in Spain after five years of temporary residence. After ten years of permanent residency, the applicant may apply for citizenship through the process of naturalization if certain criteria are met.

Tax

Foreigners are exempted from paying taxes in Spain on worldwide income unless the applicant resides in Spain for more than 183 days per year in which the person may become a tax resident. The income derived from Spain, such as rental property is taxable at a rate of 24%.

According to Spanish nationality law, you can apply for citizenship after 7 years of permanent residency.
